Man is it ever cold. What did you think of those pictures of it snowing in New Orleans, or the snow in the mountains of Malibu? It must be hard to hang ten with an icicle hanging off your nose. I thought Global Warming was going to bring us nice mild winters. What happened?

George Bush, why hast thou forsaken me? It’s no great surprise that our President is acting like a K-mart shopper on Boxing Day by committing $17.4 billion in loans to bail out the DOA Detroit auto manufacturers. It is also no great surprise that he is announcing this move on the Friday before Christmas, perfectly timed to fall into the informational black hole that is news during the holidays.

How do we begin to rebuild our economy? Today’s crisis is an object lesson in economic cause and effect in reverse. The effect was described in pessimistic detail by the media for months leading up to the Presidential election. Whether the Liberal press was trying to sway the election outcome by disparaging our current administration is anybody’s guess, but the result of the negative reporting is clear for all to see.

Today’s investment tip: Buy shares in a printing ink company. Not just any ink, but the stuff our Government uses to print money. With the bail out, hand outs and loans stacked on top of existing earmarks and entitlements, the presses in DC are running 24/7. The back door of the Treasury is wide open, and the congressional armored car is sitting there so overloaded it can hardly pull away.

What will it take to make our Government responsive and responsible, treating our citizens as partners in democracy rather than children in a sandbox?
