I'm trying to figure out where a one term, junior Senator from Illinois got all the answers.  How did he get so smart so fast, and where did he gain the wisdom to know what is right and wrong in all situations?  Did he return from the mountain top with a stone tablet, or was he visited in the night by aliens?  And most important of all:  How does he convince so many citizens to support, or at least not oppose all his policies, no matter how insane they may be?

While criticizing a previous administration that spent money like a drunken sailor, Obama's policies look as if the entire ship's crew is on shore leave.  This President believes that putting the American people in long term debt to the tune of trillions is the right thing to do for this Country.  Never mind that as the taxpayer class is tapped to its final limit, the only alternative to raise cash will be to print it.  When our Treasury runs its presses day and night, the resulting inflation will eat away at even the money you have buried in your back yard.  Ultimately, as the dollar declines and prosperity wanes, the receiving class that Obama so wishes to enhance, will be cut loose with no more resources than they had in the first place, and a Government unable to continue their entitlements.  Yet, he has forced his economic program into law with virtually no resistance or questioning whatsoever.

President Obama knows exactly what to do with our financial institutions.  He knows which banks should be supported with taxpayer money, and which should be allowed to fail.  He knows that seizing some private businesses and nationalizing others by demanding stock in return for assistance is the best path to recovery.  He also knows how much executives should be paid for their experience, ability and service, and has an amazing sense of what is obscene and what is fair with regard to compensation.  He's even convinced many that it is proper to set aside legally binding contracts in the name of social justice.

He has a keen eye when it comes to America's love affair with the automobile, knowing exactly what we want in style, safety and economy.  Since the free market doesn't quite support his vision however, he knows it is best to force it upon auto makers by changing management, insisting upon dubious mergers, assigning ownership to the unions working in those companies, and bullying legitimate creditors to abandon their financial stake.

His concept of the American "world view" is uncanny.  He knows that rubbing elbows with (and bowing to, when necessary) all the bad guys in the world will improve our standing as a nation.  If we smile and joke as declared enemies berate and insult us, obviously they will know we are nice people and be friendly toward us in return.  Anyone who has ever dealt with a schoolyard bully knows that concession results in long term peace and kindness..right?

Finally President Obama is an expert on health care matters.  Last week he even took time from his busy schedule to stage a prime time news conference telling us to "wash our hands" to avoid the swine flu.  That it seems to me, is the Nanny-State in extreme.  If you want to see Obama's government controlled health care in the flesh, I suggest you spend an afternoon at a local VA hospital.

I suppose we should be grateful that President Obama was sent to solve all of this Country's problems.  Congress, the media and too many citizens seem content giving him free rein to advance his policies and programs to get America back on track and away from its evil past.  I just want to know how Barack Obama got so smart, and where this political, economic and social genius has been all these years, that we as a nation, were doing everything wrong.

Several years ago I heard Dr. Tony Brown on PBS and he said
if you want to see what will happen in society in the years to come just look at the bottom of society, it has a way of filtering up into the upper levels of society. What is happening there will be mainstream in the next generation or two.
Black people were mistreated for many years and had a right to feel they were entitled to certain things that had been denied them in the past. The generations that were after them also feel that entitlement and that feeling has filtered up into society so people in all segments of society feel they are entitled to whatever their heart desires, and can come up with an excuse why they are deserving of something without having to work for it.
Obama has tapped into peoples feeling of entitlement. No matter how much wealth we have we are able to look at someone else we think has more than we do and feel we are deserving of what they have, without any cosideration of the effort they have put in to acquire it. As long as we feel we will benefit in the short term we will go along with what he wants to do whether it makes any sense or not.
Sometimes when we get in difficult position the things we do have to get out of the situation has ramifications in the future that we have not thought out and will come to haunt us in the future.
In the end if it is allowed to play all the way out, no one except a select few will have any wealth and the ones acquired their wealth from entitlements will have far less than they have now and will not be able prosper because they do not know how to work. Work is the way to acquire wealth not entitlement, it always has been and it will be in the future.

Your comment brings to mind Soviet Russia where the wealth was concentrated in the ruling class, and the average citizen living on Government entitlements spent most of the day trying to purchase enough food to make dinner. You know the old saying "Give a man a fish"... Unfortunately, teaching a person to be self sufficient doesn't win votes from someone who has become accustomed to receiving all they "need" from the Government. Ironically most of these people in this Country can't see or understand that the programs being enacted are economically unsustainable, and once again, they will become the victims of irresponsible Federal policy.
