Just a group of random thoughts, none of which deserve an entire posting. Headline I haven't seen: "Obama swats fly, apologizes to Hindus". He probably could do it on the Letterman Show. Seems like there's a lot of apologizing going on over there. I can just hear it now: "Letme makethis perfectlyclear. We are not, and never have been ah, at warwithHindus... I had no idea ah, that I might ah, be harming a departedrelative."
Barbara Boxer, Democratic Senator from California scolds a military official for respectfully addressing her as Ma'am. If she had any sense at all, or knew anything about the military, she would be aware that he was simply speaking to her as is taught and expected in the armed forces. Instead, she used the photo op to point out to everyone that she had worked "very hard" to earn the title "Senator", and expected to be addressed as such. Oh, isn't she something? I can think of a couple terms to address her that might be more reflective of her behavior.
Supreme Court nominee Sonja Sotomayor, has resigned from the "Women’s only" club she has belonged to for about a year. That old discrimination thing again, darn. Not only has she been the fortunate beneficiary of affirmative action throughout her education and career, she apparently believes discrimination is a one way street that is not wrong all the time, but only when it suits her. Her court decisions are going to be doozeys, don't say you weren't warned. Besides, if we can turn our Treasury over to a guy who has tax problems...I'm just sayin'.
Where the heck is Nancy Pelosi? Did the administration get her out of Dodge until things blew over, or did she just realize that people who live in glass houses... I've noticed that no one is talking anymore about prosecuting past administration official for torture or war crimes. Could it be there is a sense in Washington that occasionally Americans do recognize baloney when they see it? Perhaps the Dems are just covering their bets in case what goes around, comes around in four years.
A recent Gallup poll reveals that 40% of Americans describe themselves as conservative. Only about half as many claim to be liberal. Most remaining respondents say they are moderates. I find the third group questionable because I believe you can be a moderate liberal or conservative. What those people are really saying is: "Please run a candidate I can get behind and believe in, so I don't have to vote for the lesser of two evils". We are now living the inevitable result of having to choose between dumb and dumber, and it is going to cost this Country dearly in productivity and prosperity for years to come. As more and more Americans become disappointed with this administration, many people will be forced to come to terms with their inner Conservative.
