 OK everybody, the Democrats have released their health insurance take over bill online here . They've only promised you 72 hours to read it so you better get started. Thankfully, although it goes 1,990 pages each has relatively little information on it, so it's do-able if you really want to see what they are trying to pull over on us.
I suggest that you actually do check it out because from what I've seen, it is going to cost you money, limit available services, bankrupt private insurance companies and put your health care in the hands of a Government that screws up everthing it touches (Where is all that vaccine?). Contact your lawmakers and tell them this bill is unacceptable. Tell them that they must scrap it and start over. Tell them that they must consider the input of the American people who are satisfied with their coverage and don't want it screwed up. Most importantly, tell them they must allow Republicans to contribute and participate in the crafting of meanigful and successful health care reform. Simply forcing the minority to vote for something in which they had no input is not bipartisanship! Short of that, the Dems are going to have to own this waste of paper and ink, and they can reap the consequences in 2010 and 2012. Just a quick reminder: In 1936 after Americans had lived with FDR's policies for a while, the Democrats lost 80 seats in Congress and 11 Governorships. Paybacks are hell.
