Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber.  --Plato

Government Gone Insane
Written by Bob Sordahl

ImageThe picture is emerging of a President who couldn't care less about American wage earners.  He is fully focused on providing new entitlements for the hard core unemployed:  People who owe no payroll related taxes, and have no health insurance primarily because they receive no wages.  They are the same citizens to whom he wants to give tax credits and forgive tuition.  He also wants to suspend foreclosures for those foolish enough to buy what they couldn't afford.  In short, he wants to reward failure, and punish those who have been responsible and successful.  It doesn't matter if his policies are job killers.  The people he intends to help, don't have jobs to kill.  This is about reparations.  This is about sticking it to "the man".

President Obama's dogged determination to pass an unpopular, job killing, Government growing health insurance overhaul is proof that he is not making decisions in the best interest of this Country.  Speaker Pelosi's admission that supporting this bill will put Congressmen's jobs at risk is proof that Democrat leadership knows this is bad legislation.  No one should be afraid to pass laws that truly are for the benefit of all our citizens.

If you can't pass legislation that Progressives have been trying to move for 80 years, with a majority in both Houses of Congress, you've got to ask yourself, "What is wrong with this bill?"  My answer would be:  "Everything".

On Wednesday, President Obama will present to Congress and the American people yet another iteration of Obamacare.  It appears that he will add a few Republican ideas to the 2,700 page bill passed by Democrats in the House and Senate, and say take it or leave it.  At the summit last week, Republicans weren't asking him to add to the existing bill.  They were suggesting he scrap the original and start over, including their suggestions.  This is the truest case I've ever seen of trying to put lipstick on a pig.  Token reference to Republican input can't make this bill right.  The legislation as written will never be acceptable to anyone concerned with this Country's economic future.

The President and Democrat leadership in DC are hell bent on finally actualizing the Progressive "Holy Grail" of Government run, controlled and paid for health care.  They will utilize every parliamentary move, trick and bending of rules to force it into law, regardless of the will of the majority of the American public.

We've got a housing market that still hasn't bottomed out, unemployment that is frozen at ten plus percent, serious lack of confidence on the part of small businesses and retail sales far below what is necessary to keep this Country going.  With all those challenges, what are the President and Congress spending time on?  A Federal program to provide health insurance to a collection of 30 million illegal aliens, hard-core poor and people who would rather spend their money on other things, at the expense of the 80 percent of Americans who like their health care.

I totally agree with your comments and pray that sanity will again take hold over Congress and that enough honest and intergrety minded politicians rule the day at voting time.
