Congress is out of control.  I’m coming to the point where I believe that we have more to fear from them than from President Obama.  It appears as if the characters in Congress are using the young President as a front man to hustle their dangerous agenda.  We know how persuasive he is with a script, and the evil twins Pelosi and Reid are using him as their shill.

Obama’s ample oratory skills seem to be constantly on display.  He certainly isn’t bashful about addressing groups:  Governors, mayors, the local VFW, wherever he can preach his stimulus sermon.  In fact, he is dumping so much information on Americans that they are starting to suffer from information overload.  I’m concerned that soon the majority of  our citizens will become incapable of tracking all that Congress is doing, and finally cease to care.  That is when the Liberals will have their way with us.

What does the Democratically controlled Congress have in mind for America after we no longer have the energy or will to resist?  Here are a few gems to start with:

Another $410 billion in spending for the remainder of this fiscal year alone.  The ink isn’t even dry on the $700+ billion stimulus package and already Congress is back with their hands out for more.

They want to give Washington DC a House Representative in Congress.  It’s unconstitutional, since DC is not a state.  They tried it as a constitutional amendment several years back, but couldn’t get the states to ratify it.  This time the Dems intend to push it through using the “special powers of Congress” provision.  Given the socio-economic make up of DC, the Libs will have a lock on representation from that area.  Once it is done, most political scholars say it will be impossible to undo.

Now that they have their man in the oval office, the Democrats want to be able to keep him there for some time to come.  To accommodate that, they are proposing the repeal of the 22nd amendment, thereby eliminating the two term limitation for Presidents.  The pursuit of positive political change should not include dumping things that have been working fine for years.

Reinstatement of the “Fairness Doctrine”, which this time around will be on steroids.  All indications are that if the Democrats have their way, Government will overtly and covertly start to control what you can see and hear not only on the radio, but also television and if they can pull it off, the Internet.  Government control of the media is one of the most dangerous things that can happen to a society, and it should scare the bejeebers out of any intelligent, thinking American.

I love to listen to Obama give a speech.  He is truly a gifted orator, and sometimes when my mind wanders, I almost believe he can accomplish all he claims.  But then I come to my senses and realize that he still hasn’t articulated how we are going to pay for all the "feel good” programs, other than taxing the crap out of the top 2% of income earners in this Country, (at least until they pack their bags and take their money to Mexico).  So keep in mind, that while the President talks and explains his plans for change we can believe in, the real dirty work is being done at the Congressional level, where the Democratic majority plans to affect change that they can believe in.

Obama's speech was typical Obama he is a decent orator not in the league of Bill Clinton or Ronald Regan but better that either of the Bushes. His arrogance and in experience comes through and he cannot hide it. Bill Clinton no matter how you feel about his policies is a very personable person I have seen him for many years in a non political situation no matter how I disagreed with him politically you could not help but like the guy, Obama does not have this quality.
What the Politicians have succesfully done since the time of Lyndon Johnson is divide the american citizens into several different groups to be able to control us Obama seeks to carry on
this legacy.
Some of us want others to foot the bill for all of our wants, not needs but also wants. Tax the rich is the mantra of the left and we fall for the line every time, just so we are the ones
benefiting. We have been taught to be covetous of anyone that we perceive to have more than we want. If Warrern Buffet (or any other "Rich Person") has a Million dollars more or less that does not affect my wallet by one cent but we are made to believe that it does.
The Cons***ution affords us equal opportunity not equal outcome if
we fail to seize the opportunity that this country affords it is only our fault and no one elses. Some of us may have to work harder than others simply because they happen to be in the right place at the right time but there is always equal opportunity.
Only when all the people can come together and be americans and not
fracious groups of americans can we realize our potential as a nation. We Must do this as a Nation if we are to survive.
We must balance not only the budget that we see but the hidden indebtedness that are hidden from us. We are told we are something like 10 trillion dollars in debt, when the full indebtedness of the federal government including social security, medicare, emergency spending etc. is more like 56 trillion dollars it will not be very long until we will only be able to pay the interest on this amount of debt. (http://www.pgpf.org)
Our Lawmakers are only mirrors of the citizens in general, when we get angry with them we should look in the mirror and see where have the same values they do. We chastize them for overspending when we are head over heels in debt ourselves. We critize them for not
being punished for crimes they commit and yet when someone close to us commits a crime we do not want them to be punished for the "mistake" they made no matter how bad it was or how long they have been doing the very thing that got them in trouble. You can go on and on with many other examples that will make us squirm.
We must get our priorities in line with an long term outlook and not a short term view. We are the greatest nation in the world, even with all of our short comings we can hold on to our liberty with all of our might or we can give it away and end up on the trash heap like so many empires that have come and gone.
